The mission of Global Academy for Digital Health (GA4DH) is to bridge the gap between healthcare providers nationally, regionally, and globally through digital health technologies to Empower, Enhance, and Enrich (3Es) the patient journey . Professor Mohammed Odeh, president of GA4DH defines digital health as the “the employment of digital technologies to enable and empower healthcare providers, whether being people or organisations, to deliver innovative solutions in support of the patient healthcare journey”.
Accordingly, GA4DH aims to develop the capacity of healthcare professionals and organisations in adopting digital technologies to empower the patient journey for all the concerned stakeholders, starting from prevention and control, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for the whole life-cycle of the healthcare.
Digital health is also concerned with the process of the drug life-cycle activities of drug release, and especially the proces of pharmacovigilance. In this context, Prof Odeh of GA4DH reflected on the use of the term "Digital Pharmacovigilance" to imply “The employment of appropriate digital processes, methods, techniques, and technologies to fully support and empower the whole life-cycle activities of the generic pharmacovigilance process with strict adherence to digital and non-digital governance, ethical, quality, national and international regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines in relation to pharmacovigilance” .
