This workshop aims to capacitates participants with essential knowledge and skills for modelling, analysing, and optimising nursing workflows using the industry standard, Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN). During the workshop, participants engage in hands-on activities that focus on creating BPMN diagrams, allowing them to visualise healthcare workflows and comprehend the intricate interplay of tasks, roles, and resources involved in nursing processes. This practical engagement is supported by an exploration of real-world examples, including the integration of electronic health records (EHRs) in oncology, which helps track treatment plans and improve continuity of care. The workshop also addresses the importance of clinical decision support systems (CDSS) and their role in medication management, showcasing how these tools reduce errors and enhance patient safety. Through collaborative problem-solving sessions, participants will critically assess existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and apply optimisation strategies that align with contemporary nursing practices. By the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will possess actionable strategies and be prepared to implement continuous improvement processes within nursing workflows, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
